Darr remake on the cards

Karanvir Bohra to star in the remake of the SRK-Juhi Chawla-Sunny Deol film.

Over 20 years after its release in 1993, television actor Karanvir Bohra is all set to remake the film that helped establish Shah Rukh Khan’s reputation as an actor – Darr. Not only will Karanvir be playing SRK’s part in the film, he will also be producing it. Talking about the project, Karanvir said that television director Lalit Mohan has taken time off to script the film with a team of writers and is also in the process of pre-production. Adding to the information, the actor said, “We roll in the first week of December. I am really nervous about the film.We are currently in the process of casting the other leads,” revealing also that the film will be shot extensively in Mumbai and Manali.

Word is that the makers wanted to buy the rights to the title of Mahesh Bhatt’s 1985 Kumar Gaurav starrer Janam, but Mahesh Bhatt refused to oblige owing to his uncertainty about this remake.
